Vaalen Voort (ファーレン・フォルト, fāren foruto), whose name was referred as Var Len Fort in the Captain Tsubasa (2001 TV series), is the keeper of the Netherlands (2001 anime) and Juventus FC.
Description[]
He is a regular Dutch keeper who plays for Italy's Serie A in Juventus FC. He wears the jersey #1.
Etymology[]
Vaalen Voort is based on real-life player Edwin van der Sar. Yoichi Takahashi even wrote "VAN DER" on his locker in chapter 10 of the Road to 2002 manga.
History[]
Road to 2002 arc[]
In the Road to 2002 manga, Vaalen Voort first appeared during Juventus forwards shoot training, as the regular keeper of Juventus FC. Here, he couldn't react against Hyuga's Wild Tiger Shot, and later acknowledged its power.
Rising Sun arc[]
Curiously, Vaalen Voort was not summoned for the Olympic Netherlands team in Rising Sun.
