"Playoffs! Clash of the best four"[1] (決戦! ベスト4の激突, Kessen! Best 4 no Gekitotsu) is the eighth episode of Shin Captain Tsubasa. It was first released on 1 February 1990.

Plot[]

This episode focuses on the semifinals of the U-16 tournament. In the first half of the episode, there's the match between Germany Jr. against Uruguay Jr., where the Germans surprise their opponents with Schneider's great scoring ability plus a new addition to the team: the "Phantom Keeper" Muller. In the second half of the episode, Roberto changes his mind and stayed in France in order to watch Japan Jr.' match against France Jr. and be able to see if Tsubasa, his former disciple, is able to surpass this obstacle.
