  • Ball Control: As a technical player, Schester has good ball control.

Schester's Flamingo Clip

Dribbles and feints[]

  • Flamingo Clip: Unnamed in the manga. A technique used to dodge an opponent's sliding tackle by jumping while holding the ball between the user's calf and thigh. In Captain Tsubasa arc, chapter 88, Franz Schester used this technique to avoid Kojiro Hyuga's sliding tackle.
  • Heel Clip: Unnamed in the manga. This feint involves the first phase of the famous Heel Lift - using the back leg to press the ball against the front one. However, instead of then sending the ball over himself, Schester jumps while holding onto the ball. As demonstrated, he can then perform a forward rotation, release the ball in the air and do a Forward Somersault Pass (see Passes section below).

Schester's Overhead Clear

Ground shots[]

  • Loop Shot: Schester, when facing the opposing keeper, kicks the ball upwards as if scooping it up from underneath, giving the shot a high, circular course that passes over the head of said keeper and then comes back down into the goal.
  • Long Shot/Middle Shot: Even if all his passes and movements are 100% accurate, whenever he has the chance to aim for the goal, he can go for a shot to surprise his opponents, like the one he did against Genzo Wakabayashi or Uruguay Jr. Youth.

Schester's Through Pass

Aerial shots[]

  • Overhead Kick: A way to shoot a ball in the air with the leg, rather than using, for example, a header. Schester can also use this to clear the ball away while being in the defensive (see Defensive techniques section below).

Defensive techniques[]

  • Overhead Clear: A way to clear the ball by some players in order to defend the goal with an overhead.
  • Sliding Tackle: The user runs along at full speed, then slides straight at his opponent's feet to take away the ball.

Passes[]

  • Forward Somersault Pass: Unnamed in the manga. Schester holds the ball with both legs and after jumping, does a pass while doing a forward salto. Similar to the Heel Pass in the way both techniques are passes done with the heel. Called Rolling Pass in Gekito no Kiseki.
  • Loop Pass: This pass travels softly over the heads of the opposition. Its trajectory makes it difficult to intercept, allowing it to land gently at the receiver's feet. Schester does this to surpass Hamburg's defense in order to enter Wakabayashi's area.
  • Through Pass: It's a pass going through the opposition's defenders, catching them off-guard and reaches a teammate, on the verge of the offside. It can only be used by players who have absolute confidence in their passing ability. It's called High-Speed Through Ball in Tatakae Dream Team.
