Captain Tsubasa: Road to 2002 Tokubetsu Hen - F.C.R.B. Stadium Opening Match (キャプテン翼ROAD TO 2002特別編 F.C.R.B. STADIUM OPENING MATCH, Captain Tsubasa: Road to 2002 special story - F.C.R.B. Stadium Opening Match) is a 10-page oneshot story created as a promotional item for the F.C.R.B. Stadium Project exhibition, a work of Japanese architect Nobuo Araki for the fictional team F.C. Real Bristol (or F.C.R.B, also part of a larger project).

The manga was originally released in Shueisha's Mankaku Vol.39 (an extra edition of the Seinen magazine Weekly Young Jump) cover date #2004-06-05 (on sale starting 2004-04-28). The manga has not been republished so far.

The manga is a promotional product for the F.C.R.B Project, so it is not part of the canon of the regular series.

The story is a fantasy match between Tsubasa and Friends (Jun Misugi, Hermann Kaltz, Pepe, Shingo Aoi, Hikaru Matsuyama, Genzo Wakabayashi, the Tachibana twins, Hanji Urabe, Ryo Ishizaki, Taro Misaki, Rivaul, Radunga, Carlos Santana, Mamoru Izawa, Teppei Kisugi and Hajime Taki) vs. Hyuga All Stars (Makoto Soda, Ken Wakashimazu, Kazuki Sorimachi, Takeshi Sawada, Karl Heinz Schneider, Stefan Levin, Shunko Sho, Brian Cruyfford, Ryoma Hino, Natureza, Tomeya Akai, Salvatore Gentile, Gino Hernandez, Ramon Victorino, Elle Sid Pierre and Louis Napoleon) to inaugurate the F.C.R.B. Stadium.

Tsubasa Friends start the attack, but Hyuga All Stars defend well. A Fire Shoot from Schneider is repelled by Wakabayashi, but Hyuga scores with a Tiger Volley, the opening goal of the F.C.R.B. Stadium. Tsubasa immediately picks up the ball and gets ready to counter attack. The manga closes with the phrase "football is forever".

About F.C.R.B.Edit

F.C.R.B. is a project of SOPH, a company and brand of clothes created by Japanese fashion designer Hirofumi Kiyonaga. F.C.R.B. is the second line of exclusive clothing focused on the fictional F.C. Real Bristol and inspired in football.

As part of the branding of F.C.R.B., the F.C.R.B. Stadium Project was created. This project involves a possible stadium with a design focused on energy efficiency and saving natural resources, an ecological theme. It was designed by architect Nobuo Araki and it was shown in the F.C.R.B. Stadium Project exhibition held in the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation in 2004. The manga was created as a promotional item for the F.C.R.B. Stadium Project.
